SHI WILL ACCOMPLISH A SCIENTIFIC
RESEARCH IN THE FOLLOWING FIELDS:
- Estimating water resources and water balance for
different spatial-temporal scales.

- Estimating and forecasting anthropogenic changes
in river runoff.
- Forecasting possible climate change, assessing
ecological and economic aftereffects of expected climate
change.
- Developing mathematical models of hydrological
cycle including modeling of water exchange with man's
impact.
- Physical and mathematical modeling of fluvial
processes, calculating and forecasting sediment runoff
and water erosion.
- Assessing the ecological state of water objects
and water quality of water sources.
SHI WILL PROVIDE THE
SCIENTIFIC-METHODOLOGICAL GUIDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING KINDS OF
WORK:
- Optimizing hydrological network.

- Developing and exploitation of automated systems
for collecting, processing, preserving and disseminating
hydrological information.
- Applying the remote sensing methods for
hydrology.
- Conducting metrological certification of
hydrological instrumentation and equipment.
SHI WILL PROVIDE THE SCIENTIFIC
HYDROLOGICAL GENERALIZATION OF:
- Reliable sources for water supply of populated
areas, enterprises, farms.
- The most rational places for water intake and
waste water discharge.
- Efficient projects for constructing and
reconstructing cities, industrial enterprises,
reservoirs, bridges, dams, dykes, dyking, navigation,
irrigation, water-supply and drainage canals.
- The best variants of passages across water bodies
of bridges, oil-and gas pipe lines, electricpower ines,
etc.
- Assessing the resources and storage of ground
waters.
AS WELL AS SHI WILL DO

hydrological studies in the territories of Russia and

countries.
- Developing a complex of mathematical models to
calculate the characteristics of hydrological regime with
design work.
- Conducting trial and testing of the variants of
engineering water management solutions by using physical
and mathematical modeling.
- Conducting an ecological expertise of water
management objects and hydraulic structures.
- producing hydrological instrumentation and fixing
it as well as calibrating in a calibration basin.
- Organizing and conducting delicate physical
experiments in the prototype and laboratory conditions on
studying different hydrological processes by using unique
instruments and installations.
